Stage 31: Who is smarter? (-24, 5 x -2, tap both)

Stage 32: Tap the gold bars. (use 3 fingers to touch the rock at the same time and drag all fingers upwards, then use a 4th finger to tap the gold bars.)

Stage 33: Block the sun. (lift your phone upwards as if you are using it to block the sun.)

Stage 34: Pay exact change. (tear the price tag into half by using your finger to rip the part that says .50 so that you’ll be left with $24.)

Stage 35: Tap the red circle 3x. (scroll the screen upwards until you see the red circle. tap on it.)

So there they are! The answers for all 35 stages. Hope you have fun ~~

House of Night

House of Night is a series of vampire-based romance fantasy novel that is written by a mother-daughter pair: P.C. and Kristin Cast respectively. This series is overwhelmingly popular that it has sold over 10 million books in 39 countries to date! In addition to that, it is not a strange to various best seller/selling lists. (New York Times Best Seller and USA Today are two of those)

House of Night is a thrillingly engaging book series that follows 16-year-old Zoey Redbird,
who gets “Marked” by a vampyre tracker and begins to undergo the “Change” into an actual
vampyre. She has to leave her family in Tulsa and move into the House of Night, a boarding
school for other fledglings like her.

It’s within the school’s walls that the heart of the action takes place as Zoey meets new friends,
finds love, comes to terms with how her life will be different now and begins to realize her
awesome new powers.

Here’s the deal though: Yes, Zoey’s a vampyre now. But she’s still a teenager – with all the
humor, angst and confusing feelings any other teenager has.”

Review/Reflection

I got totally hooked onto the series after reading the first book: Marked. Ever since then I have been a ‘collector’ of this series. Somehow the way which this story is written can be related to and even applied in real life. Even with all the magical and supernatural elements, there is still a sense of realism inbuilt inside the story. Religion, for instance plays an extremely important part in the story.

The protagonist in this series, I feel, leads a life similar to mine. Having a family that does not understand her, seeking solace in her school and her grandmother. Not her parents, her grandmother. For awhile, she was close to her mentor, Nerferet, but not anymore. Shan’t spoil the reason.

Unlike her though, I didn’t have anyone to turn to until a couple of months ago, almost a year. Unlike her, I was not betrayed by him =]

This book is a good read for teenagers, even more so if one enjoys vampire/romance stories. It should be found in any popular bookstores e.g. Popular, Kinokuniya, Borders (best choice by far for me) and maybe second hand book stores, just don’t expect the latest book.

So far here are the lists of series according to date released:

Marked

“After a Vampire Tracker Marks her with a crescent moon on her forehead, 16-year-old Zoey Redbird enters the House of Night and learns that she is no average fledgling. She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess Nyx and has affinities for all five elements: Air, Fire Water, Earth and Spirit. But she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers. When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school’s most elite club, is mis-using her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny— with a little help from her new vampyre friends (or Nerd Herd, as Aphrodite calls them).”

Betrayed

“Zoey, High Priestess in training, has managed to settle in at the House of Night and come to terms with the vast powers the Vampyre Goddess Nyx has given her. Just as she finally feels she belongs, the unthinkable happens: human teenagers are being killed, and all evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey’s old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves.”

Chosen

“Dark forces are at work at the House of Night and Zoey Redbird’s adventures at the school take a mysterious turn. Her best friend, Stevie Rae, is undead and struggling to maintain a grip on her humanity. Zoey finds herself in the very unexpected and rare situation of having three boyfriends. Mix a little bloodlust into the equation and the situation has the potential to spell social disaster. Just when it seems things couldn’t get any tougher, vampyres start turning up dead. Really dead. It looks like the People of Faith are tired of living side-by-side with vampyres. But, as Zoey and her friends so often find out, how things appear rarely affects the truth…”

Untamed

“Life sucks when your friends are pissed at you. Just ask Zoey Redbird – she’s become an expert on suckiness. In one week she has gone from having three boyfriends to having none, and from having a close group of friends who trusted and supported her, to being an outcast. Speaking of friends, of the two Zoey has left, one is undead and one is unMarked. And Neferet has declared war on humans, which Zoey knows in her heart is wrong. But will anyone listen to her? Zoey’s adventures at vampyre finishing school take a wld and dangerous turn as loyalties are tested, shocking true intentions come to light, and an ancient evil is awakened.”

Hunted

“What if the hottest guy in the world was hiding a nameless evil, and all he wanted was you? At the start of this heart-pounding new installment of the bestselling House of Night series, Zoey’s friends have her back again and Stevie Rae and the red fledglings aren’t Neferet’s secrets any longer. But an unexpected danger has emerged. Neferet guards her powerful new consort, Kalona, and no one at the House of Night seems to understand the threat he poses. Kalona looks gorgeous, and he has the House of Night under his spell. A past life holds the key to breaking his rapidly spreading influence, but what if this past life shows Zoey secrets she doesn’t want to hear and truths she can’t face?”

Tempted

“So…you’d think after banishing an immortal being and a fallen High Priestess, saving Stark’s life, biting Heath, getting a headache from Erik, and almost dying, Zoey Redbird would catch a break. Sadly, a break is not in the House of Night school forecast for the High Priestess in training and her gang. Juggling three guys is anything but a stress reliever, especially when one of them is a sexy Warrior who is so into protecting Zoey that he can sense her emotions. Speaking of stress, the dark force lurking in the tunnels under the Tulsa Depot is spreading, and Zoey is beginning to believe Stevie Rae could be responsible for a lot more than a group of misfit red fledglings. Aphrodite’s visions warn Zoey to stay away from Kalona and his dark allure, but they also show that it is Zoey who has the power to stop the evil immortal. Soon it becomes obvious that Zoey has no choice: if she doesn’t go to Kalona he will exact a fiery vengeance on those closest to her. Will Zoey have the courage to chance losing her life, her heart, and her soul? Find out in the next spectacular installment in the House of Night series, TEMPTED”

Burned

“Things have turned black at the House of Night. Zoey Redbird’s soul has shattered. With everything she’s ever stood for falling apart, and a broken heart making her want to stay in the Otherworld forever, Zoey’s fading fast. It’s seeming more and more doubtful that she will be able pull herself back together in time to rejoin her friends and set the world to rights. As the only living person who can reach her, Stark must find a way to get to her.  But how?  He will have to die to do so, the Vampire High Council stipulates.  And then Zoey will give up for sure. There are only 7 days left…

Enter  BFF Stevie Rae.  She wants to help Z but she has massive problems of her own.  The rogue Red Fledglings are acting up, and this time not even Stevie Rae can protect them from the consequences.  Her kinda boyfriend, Dallas, is sweet but too nosy for his own good.  The truth is, Stevie Rae’s hiding a secret that might be the key to getting Zoey home but also threatens to explode her whole world.

In the middle of the whole mess is Aphrodite: ex-Fledgling, human, trust-fund baby, total hag from Hell (and proud of it).  She’s always been blessed (if you could call it that) with visions that can reveal the future, but now it seems Nyx has decided to speak through her with the goddess’s own voice, whether she wants it or not.  Aphrodite’s loyalty can swing a lot of different ways, but right now Zoey’s fate hangs in the balance.

Three girls… playing with fire… if they don’t watch out, everyone will get Burned.”

Awakened

“Exonerated by the Vampyre High Council and returned to her position of High Priestess at Tulsa’s House of Night, Neferet has sworn vengeance on Zoey. Dominion over her immortal consort Kalona is only one of the weapons she plans to use against Z. But Zoey has found sanctuary on the Isle of Skye and is being groomed by Queen Sgiach to take over for her there. Being Queen would be cool, wouldn’t it? Why should she return to Tulsa? After losing her human consort, Heath, she will never be the same – and her relationship with her super-hot-warrior, Stark, may never be the same either…
And what about Stevie Rae and Rephaim? The Raven Mocker refuses to be used against Stevie Rae, but what choice does he have when no one in the entire world, including Zoey, would be okay with their relationship? Does he betray his father or his heart?

In the pulse-pounding 8th book in the bestselling House of Night series, how far will the bonds of friendship stretch and how strong are the ties that bind one girl’s heart?

iPhone app review: Stupid

I was bored of the games in my iPhone. So, I decided to download a new ‘free’ game since I don’t have my own credit card yet. This game application ‘Stupid’ caught my eye. I read the description:

How high is your IQ? How smart exactly are you? Test your IQ level with the stupidness 2 game! Think and figure out your way quickly through the impossible stages! Get your friends and family to try it out and have some laughs over it!”

The free version has 35 stimulating questions and for all levels hints are provided when you are running out of time. Have a Facebook account and satisfied with your score? Post it! It’s simple yet addictive.

Here are some example stages:

‘Put this elephant into the fridge’

A fridge and an elephant is shown on the screen.  (Ans: drag the word elephant to the fridge’s picture)

‘Turn the light off’

A glowing lightbulb is shown next to a switch. (Ans: turn your iPhone literally; not tilt, turn.)

‘Wake the man up’

A stickman is shown sleeping on a bed with a pail of water next to him. (Ans: Shake your phone)

This game literally makes you think out of the box. The phrase ‘things are not always what they seem’ is taken to a whole new level here. My soulmate and I were laughing our heads off as well as banging them against the wall at the same time when we played. It was just that funny and fun. If you love mind-boggling games, this is a must. If you’re able to pay for it, do it. Get the pro version. It is totally worth it. Enjoy!

天外飞仙 aka Fairy From Wonderland

A touching series, this one was. I cried at the end of the show. It had sort of a bittersweet ending.

‘Fairy from wonderland’ is a forbidden love drama between an immortal fairy and  a mortal. A mortal, Dong Yong, comes across a young lady, Xiao Qi.

Xiao Qi is actually a fairy who has committed a crime and so was banished to the mortal realm along with her powers being stripped off. Only by accomplishing 100 good deeds would she be able to regain her status as an immortal.

Throughout the series, Dong Yong helps her adapt to the mortal realm and teaches her what it is like to be a mortal. Before they know it, love blossoms between them. Before being banished, Xiao Qi’s love root was being plucked. However, her memories gradually returned as she spent more time with Dong Yong. That’s when things go haywire cause mortals and immortals are forbidden from loving each other. Love, however, bonds the two so strongly that even the celestial guards find it hard to separate them.

In the end, Xiao Qi’s father allowed her to stay on earth with Dong Yong for a period of time. This was decided by choosing a red packet. In the end they selected a month. Xiao Qi was infuriated at first, but after realizing that was actually the longest, she became grateful.

And so…the two spent a short but fulfilling one whole month together before Xiao Qi returned to Heaven.

Filled with love, trust, some comedic elements, sweet and cute moments, this series is a heart-warming story that’s best watched with your loved one.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

Both of them reincarnated at the end of the series in the 21st century. Modern technology, busy streets, and there – their eyes met.

Opening Song: Yi Yan Wan Nian by S.H.E.

Ending Song: Qian Nian Lei by Tank

One of my favorite Insert Songs

‘Manga Guide to Calculus’ Book review

This book is perfect for all those out there…who either LOVE manga or HATE learning math the conventional way, (to be specific calculus).

This book follows the adventures of Noriko, an aspiring journalist. She would very much like to cover the hard-hitting issues for the Asagake Times, like world affairs and politics. BUT. Does she have the smarts for it? Thankfully, her overbearing and math-minded boss teaches her how to analyze her stories with a mathematical eye. Sounds impossible? Apparently it is not as hard as one thinks.

Inside, one would realise that calculus is a useful way to understand the patterns in physics, economics and the world around us; from probabilities, supply and demand curves etc.

Some topics covered include: economics of pollution and density of Shochu ( a japanese liquor), functions, fundamental calculus theorum, integration and differentiation, taylor expansions.

Regardless of whether you’re struggling through calculus or simply wish for a light, painless refresher, try this book.

I found this book in Singapore Polytechnic Library. SP students could try searching for it in there…after tomorrow when I have returned the book.

Some other series include Manga Guide to

Statistics

Databases

Electricity

Physics

Molecular Biology

Enjoy them all if you wish =D I’m going to have fun digging bookstores for the other series.

Prepare tissues while watching this series cause the buffets shown are simply mouth-watering and must-tries! I personally am an economic person so once I start working full-time, I’m going down myself to a few buffets to try them out.

First Last Day of Poly life

Today’s my first day in 3rd (and final) year in poly. I started it off by being late for class…for about…approximately 20 minutes. And to top it off, it was for the module that I was looking forward to. Now I know what dashing for school is like. On the plus side even though I woke up at close to 8 (lesson started at that time), I live closer to school now. Thus, I somehow managed to rush and still turn up for at least half of the lesson.

Oh well, I’m still looking forward nevertheless. Final year in poly, new home and a new beginning for me…wonder where life will take me next. Ooh, this is so exciting.
