Organic Chem Self-Mug Tutorials

All right I admit.

Sometimes, I am simply too tired to attend lectures, especially when I have had a very busy day at work or I had insufficient sleep the previous night. (FYI – I’m doing part time studies and having a full time day job). Needless to say, I had to resort to other methods of studying for my quizzes, tests and what-nots.

Currently, the module which I am enrolled in has a very strong footing in Organic Chemistry. After sieving through what seems like a million videos on youtube, I finally came across these two channels which are my favourites –

1. Khan Academy.

Link –

Description – Our mission is to provide a world-class education for anyone, anywhere. This channel includes Khan Academy videos on Organic Chemistry presented by Jay. All Khan Academy content is available for free at

Here’s one of their videos on Chirality Centers and Stereoisomes as a sneak preview:

2. Freelance Teacher

Link –

Description – These videos are offered on a “pay what you like” basis. You can pay for the use of the videos at my website:

At my website you can find links to playlists for all the video series, with series on similar topics arranged in suggested viewing order, as well as printable documents containing the “handouts” or problems discussed in the videos. I am not an expert on the topics covered in these videos. The videos may contain errors; viewer beware.

Sneak Preview on Aldehydes, Ketones and Enolates because I happened to be studying that

Both of these are useful if you’re enrolled into an institution like I am. However, if you’re not officially in an educational institution and you’d like to do some serious self-studying, then…the second one’s more for you. It actually has its own site and you can download contents from there.

For those already enrolled in a school, you SHOULD have your own notes and SHOULD be simply adding on to your own (like me) unless you hate your notes or deem them not useful.

Anyway, I hope these two channels prove useful to all my friends studying Organic Chemistry at a Degree level out there ~

Cheers XD

Collin Raye – Love Me

Today, because I am dead tired from my day job and night class, I shall simply put up a video.
The title’s Love Me by Collin Raye.
And so according to Wikipedia…
‘In January 1992, the single became Raye’s first Number One single on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts; the same year, the song received a Song of the Year nomination from the Country Music Association.’
It has also been cited as a popular choice for Funerals.
You’d understand why after you listen.
Believe me.
I cried.

Here’s the tearful lyrics of the song from Lyrics007:

I read a note my Grandma wrote back in 1923
Grandpa kept it in his coat, and he showed it once to me
He said, “Boy, you might not understand, but a long, long time ago,
Grandma’s daddy didn’t like me none, but I love your Grandma so.

We had this crazy plan to meet and run away together
Get married in the first town we came to and live forever
But nailed to the tree where we were supposed to meet instead
I found this letter, and this is what it said,

“If you get there before I do
Don’t give up on me
I’ll meet you when my chores are through
I don’t know how long I’ll be

But I’m not gonna let you down
Darling wait and see
And between now and then
Til I see you again

I’ll be loving you
Love, Me.”

I read those words just hours before my Grandma passed away
In the doorway of the church where me and Grandpa stopped to pray
I know I’ve never seen him cry in all my fifteen years
But as he said these words to her, his eyes fill up with tears

“If you get there before I do
Don’t give up on me
I’ll meet you when my chores are through
I don’t know how long I’ll be

But I’m not gonna let you down
Darling wait and see
And between now and then
Til I see you again

I’ll be loving you
Love, Me.”

Choice of Zombies

Choice of Zombies

I am admittedly not usually a player of text-based games because it’s…well…a little on the boring side.

But hey, this game had the word ‘Zombies’ in it. As a fan of the genre, how could I resist? And considering it was a recommendation from a close friend of mine, whose taste I highly trust, I decided to give it a shot.

And I did NOT regret giving it a shot.

Heavily based on texts with absolutely zero graphics though it may be, the description is vivid enough for your imagination to kick in. So unless you have a severe lack of imagination (in which case you have my utmost pity and no I’m not being sarcastic), you ought to give this a shot.

Even more so if you’re a fan of anything zombie like I am =D

The title sort of gives it away ‘Choice of Zombies’. It’s a game of choice where each decision you make affects your Stats (number of zombies you’ve killed, Sensitivity, Selfishness, Heroism etc.) Instead of flipping pages of a physical book, the game is set in an MCQ-styled manner. A couple of choices would be given to you and it’s completely up to you to choose accordingly.

My first attempt resulted in me being bitten and turned into a zombie but…oh well…at least I had fun killing them whilst at it =D

I do hope y’all enjoy this game as much as I did.

Now for sleep.

Nitey nitez ^^

My New UmiSushi Work Companion =D

My New UmiSushi Work Companion =D

Looks familiar? That’s right!! It’s the UMI SUSHI MASCOT! And it’s oh-so-cute! Yes, I’m a sucker for cute things though there are times when my definition of cute does not lie in the same plane as that of others.
So anyway, this lil guy is now my new companion at work – helping me de-stress whenever I feel overloaded with studies and work.

Note: It’s a tissue box, not a plushie

Revival of my Almost Dead Blog

*looks around cautiously*

O…kay…I am so sorry to all who have sent me messages for the past half a year and received no reply.

I have been dead busy with all the stuff that’s coming in =( Literally. Fell sick a couple of times, lack of sleep…kinda’ resulting in this ->

I shall try my utmost best to be more active from now~~~

Do forgive me if I can’t because…well…working full time and studying part time is no easy feat. To all those who are doing the same thing as I am – kudos to you guys.

To appease all of you who are still absolutely set on killing me/setting me on fire/doing goodness-knows-what to me, here’s a photo of a cute little kitteh as an apology and a gift to appease y’all ><“

In the meantime, I shall start replying to as much people as I possibly can when I am still free and my mood to study is still somewhere…out there.
